Hey all! I had a phone call from Sue today.

She is doing well and would like to be included in some of our activities.

In August, she will be in Michigan while we are having our tasting, but she may be interested in hosting the group in September.

Kathy :-)

Okay kids! I have spent most of Sunday (yep most of it...5 hours so far..hey it is too damn hot to be outside so being here with the air running seemed like a good choice) adding to our site. I ahev updated the Winery Links page and added a Restaurant page. I have not added the restaurant link to the main page yet though, as my "test" there is not going well...so if you want to view the restaurant page, before I officially add it to the main page, you can visit it at: "http://members.aol.com/PDXWineauxs/restaurant.htm" Enjoy! I had dinner Friday at Red Hills...planned to only have an appetizer but oh my, the Pork Tenderloin with Mango Salsa was too much to pass up!!! Kathy :-)

You go girl! Nice job... lots of info for your group. It looks like you have your touring business going great guns. Do you want me to list it in the "Oregon Wineries and Merchant Finder" again? I had it there once, but you sort of backed out of the touring business for a while there. Just let me know what contact information you would like to have with it in this alphabetical list. Currently, Adventures in Wine will be at the top of the list with its AD... characters. I am not able to provide links (website and email); those are provided for customers, but I can put the company name and telephone number and/or address, if you like. We also have a new option for "associate" customers... those wine-related businesses other than wineries... a half-page or full-page option, $225 and $325 respectively. Both these pages run for a full 12 months. Let me know if you are interested and we can talk about the possibilities. P.S. We're up to 25,000 individual "user sessions" each month now. :-) Later, Susan O'Hara

Well kiddos....I picked up one great Web Building book yesterday! I have learned a ton from it. Within the first 30 mins of reading it, I was able to do 3 things to our site that I had no clue how to do before. Yea!!!
They are subtle changes, so you may or may not notice them, but I thought they made the site look much better.
Now if I can only figure out what to do with the links down the side of the main page. I will figure that one our yet! LOL!
Now, if you see wierd characters in this message, it is because I am testing, yet again.
I have added a lodging link...right now the link at the bottom of the page to this area is not working, so please use the icon on the side labeled "Hotel Links". AOL's web server is down so until I can access it, I can't update the page to fix the snafu.

Hi there all! Just thought I would drop you a little note about the mountain wine tast- ing this weekend. I would like to try to have everybody there by 3:00pm, that way we can start a little early and allow people who can't stay the opportunity to drive home at a decent hour. If you are planning on staying, be advised there is not a shower/ tub available, only a water closet. Also plan to bring breakfast materials for Sunday morning. If you need a map to the cabin, e-mail me a phone number where I can fax you one. Also, you might want to throw in a sleeping bag if you stay. Look forward to seeing all of you on Saturday! Scott

I did hear from my friends Connie and Cheryl. Connie ended up being very ill with the flu that evening and they truly wished that they could have been with us, rather than being sick.

For any of you thinking Champagne for the holidays, I found a GREAT deal today. Gateway Fred Meyer has Veuve Cliquot on sale for $30! I have seen it at other shops between $32 (on sale) to $47! The sale is on until January 1, 2001. I picked up my bottle this evening.

The sale at the winery???? It was CRAZY!!! Literally a 3 hour wait on Saturday to get in the door and up to the sales desk! The line went from the cash register..out the door...up the parking lot to the house!

The cars filled both parking lots, the driveway and all the way down North Valley Road on both sides! I didn't get to see that as I was too busy at the sales desk. None of us could leave the spot I had assigned us! It was too busy!

We opened at noon, but people started showing up at 8AM!!! Patty and I hadn't even gotten up yet! I had to twll one guy who called from his cell phone that he needed to give us half an hour to get dressed!

We even had customers volunteer to work...one lady helped pack orders for 3 hours...another guy helped for 2 hours (still have no clue who he was) and Polly from Cooper Mt. stepped in to help pour wines. It was insane!

We sold 1200 cases on Saturday!!!!! Some orders were huge....20-30 cases per order!!!

So now, we are sold out of everything except the 1998 Chardonnay, 1998 Willamette Valley Pinot, 1999 Willamette Valley Pinot, 1999 Reserve Pinot.

The people were great....no one got upset over the wait...they all had fun, we kept them happy with jokes and a positive attitude. One lady was overheard by Patty to say "These people are awesome!" Amazing!!!!

On Monday, Patty, Jim and I formed an assembly line to ship out another 150 cases!

Totally amazing!

Also, great to see the Duncan's on Sunday with their friends. They saw the calm after the storm. LOL
