This event was put on by Lemma Wine Company
(after a Monday afternoon tasting of the 1997 releases.)
This was a great event! They held three such dinners on
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
On Wednesday evening, 48 of us gathered to enjoy the
food, wines and company of Piedmont. Here is the menu.

Involtino di Peperone
This dish was fabulous! It consisted of
one red and one yellow roasted pepper

and mayonnaise (made with 30 egg yolks!)
It was served on a bed of mixed greens with
balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil.

Third Course
Maltagliati con Ragu' di Coniglio
Yum! This was the best pasta I have ever tasted! Wafer thin and flavorful.
It is made from the scraps of cut pastas, so the shapes are irregular.
Topped with ground rabbit in a cream sauce.

1996 Produttori del Barbaresco Montestefano Riserva
1990 Produttori del Barbaresco Montestefano Riserva

Beautifully simple. Grilled lamb with spinach
sauted with extra virgin olive oil and potatoes.

1996 Renato Ratti Borolo Rocche

Great finish to a fabulous meal. A great Panna Cotta
served with glazed kumquats and an orange liquer reduction.
